Steve Millard

Artist and Art Instructor

With a wealth of teaching experience that spans over two decades and a background in the animation industry, Steve is dedicated to providing top-teir visual art and drawing instruction.

In the animation industry, he produced work for diverse clients, including P.B.S, YTV, and the Warner Brothers Network, while employed at Nelvana Animation and 9 Story Entertinment. He also worked on the feature films “Beauty and The Beast : The Enchanted Christmas”, and “Peter Pan : Return to Neverland” as part of the Animation Department at Walt Disney Animation Canada.

In 2017, his sculpture work was chosen by the juried publication annual “Spectrum 24: The Best in Contemporary Fantasic Art”

2003 - PRESENT

Art Instructor and Coordinator of Animation Program (Years 1 + 2)

MTM College of Animation, Art and Design

  • Work with students to identify their strengths and develop their skills.

  • Communicate information and ideas effectively and clearly by using visual demonstrations.

  • Incorporate Animation Industry experience into the classroom through lectures, assignments, etc.

  • Additional teaching experience with The Art Institute of Toronto, and the International Academy of Art and Design.

1996 - 2008

  • Designed Character Art and supervised additional artists in design.

  • Bronze Sculpture "Polonius" featured in advertisement for the foundry Artcast Inc in "Slate" magazine.

  • Bronze Sculpture "Polonius" was jury selected for the publication "Spectrum 24: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art" (page 165).
